Illegal logging in the Indonesian rainforest

Indonesia has the fourth biggest population in the world. It is famous about natural sources such as oil, gas, wood and metals. Also it is the biggest exporter of pulp, paper, and furniture produced from timber. On the other hand, the drawback about Indonesia is illegal logging. In the following assay, I will outline factors that have led to this issue and suggest some solutions.

Firstly, the problem which led to deforestation in Indonesia is cutting down the trees in order to export woods to China. Secondly, floods which happened in China killed 2,500 people and damaged a big area of trees that were used for manufacture furniture to export to the USA. Then, illegal timber was taken by smugglers out of Indonesia.

Here are some solutions for the future. The Indonesian government has stopped exporting timber to other countries. In addition, China has started to grow more trees to produce timber for the future. Following that, UK and Denmark are only importing timber that is produced from legal sources.

Overall, everything of excess is not good to cutting the trees, and using the illegal ways to smuggle their country’s source of income. In my opinion the Government should take tough action and stop the problems to protect the country’s natural wealth.
