About me:

My name is Abboud. I am 26 years old. I was born in the Corniche hospital in Abu Dhabi. It is a city with beautiful sand and a breathtaking view of the skyline. My childhood life was so precious, and my earliest memories were playing with children, studying hard, participating in every kind of activity, hanging out with friends. My father is a business man, and Mother is a housewife. I started school when at the age of seven years old. My school memories were meeting new friends, playing activities, meet new teachers from time to time and being punctual and determined.

I have traveled to many beautiful places like Egypt, England, and Lebanon. My favorite trip was to England. I went there for an English course and holiday. I was so amazed to see the greenery and the beautiful scenes and meeting new faces. I was staying in Colchester. I visited London to see the most famous museums like the Wax Museum of Madam Tussades, the most famous celebrities wax statues, and I visited the Hyde Park and saw the Buckingham Palace. I took a train to my next stop in Manchester city. I stayed for two months and I enjoyed hanging out with new people and visiting places and shopping at Haroods in London.

In my free time I love to go for desert drive, going around with my friends and my family. If I had the chance to complete my education I would love to go to Australia in Sydney or maybe to England. I am interested in movies, sports and new cars. My favorite movies are the Gladiator, Spiderman, Lord of the Rings and other action movies. My favorite car is Bentley 4 wheel: that’s my future car! You must have ambitions in life to achieve your goals you have to work really hard to inspire your motivation, accept the challenges in life and hard work pays.

The major experience which influenced me is to choose the field which is interesting for me and make up my own decisions for my future plans. The people who I associate with have influenced my life because with their ideas or methods they inspire you in life. Everyday viewing new examples of life makes you know how the world is moving. When I take any assignment I discuss with my colleagues for the progress and achieve my goals. My hard work and my perspectives will lead to the new methods and the personal growth, and progress to finish up the project with full responsibility and leads to the victory of the person. Seeing others presentation, performance or movie can encourage you to take up decisions.

My aim in the future is that I want to be promoted to a great position, and I would like to see myself at the top of everyone and more educated in life. My future dream is to open my own businesses and he successful. If I changed anything in U.A.E I would like to see it more developed and trying new inventions to bring up the progress in technology, education, living aspects and entertainment for our future generations. Life is hard but to reach that status you have to struggle to get the thing you want the most. I want to see myself driving my favorite Bentley car!

Johann Hari's opinion

Mr.Hari’s article is regarding how to be planet friendly. He said that we as a consumer can participate in saving the earth from climate change danger by purchasing items that against pollution. Climate satiability is very important in agriculture and structure of cities. The government has to support in saving the environment and prevent factories form harming the earth by setting rules and laws. In conclusion, he believes that the government has to be more effective and serious in order to solve this problem and work hard to encourage increasing friendly planet manufactures and consumers.

Describing a Cool City

One of the main factors of the quick economic development is industrial revolution in several countries. On the other hand, it leads to many serious problems such as air pollution, chemical waste, increase CO2 percentage, etc. The earth is in danger by time because the climate changed and it becomes wormer. In addition, our lifestyle is increasing the problems as well and increasing the parentage of harm gases. For example, we used to drive cars and buses that produce certain parentage of carbon dioxide everyday.

In order to save the earth from this danger, we have to find alternatives that friendly to the planet because that SDCJ provide a project the cool city. A green city prevents using any activity cause pollution. All normal vehicles will be replaced with hybrid cars, solar ships and light rail transit to reduce the production of harm gases from cars and buses. In addition, people should reduce in using electricity and water since these resources are very important for each individual all over the world.

In conclusion, cool city project is one of the best solutions that can save the environment from global warming. It will help us to change our lifestyle to have better life with less pollution.

One Planet Living and Masdar City

Visit http://www.oneplanetliving.org/

If everyone lived like an average North American we would need five planets.

If everyone lived like an average European we would need three planets.

If everyone lived like an average Emirati we would need eleven planets.

Our global footprint grew by 150% between 1961 and 2003. It is now 25% above the planet's biological capacity to support life on earth.

The WWF has developed an initiative called One Planet Living. It has ten guiding principles.

Masdar is going to be developed using these principles.

· Explain the ten guiding principles using your own words.

1. Zero carbon:
Applying the energy efficiency in buildings or supply the energy from one site renewable resources in order less of carbon dioxide is produce in the atmosphere.

2. Zero waste:
Get free waste flows and burn them, and reduce the waste generation by recycling to reuse in other manufacture.

3. Sustainable transport:
Traveling by car or airplane can cause air and noise pollution. Reduce the trust on vehicles and achieve less of carbon dioxide and provide transport systems to reduce the dependence on fuels.

4. Local and sustainable materials:
Use local materials which reduce the transport production and encourage the investment in local natural sources and improving in local economy.

5. Local and sustainable food:
Change the supply of food and support the local and low effect of food production that provides healthy food quality and decrease pollution that occurs from transportation.

6. Sustainable water:
Freshwater can be in short supply in humans need due to pollution and disruption of hydrological cycles. Reusing and recycling decreases the water extraction and pollution by creating a sewage management system.
